Abstract
Through calcination of barium salts (as a simulant of radium) on metal substrates interaction of barium nitrate and barium carbonate with some structural materials was examined: steel grade St3, stainless steel 12X18H10T, tantalum, nickel, zirconium and silver. The experiments were performed again for nickel and stainless steel using milligramme quantities of radium.
