Abstract
The article deals with the issue of correlation between the term “auding” and its Russian equivalent. Due to the uncovering of objectives be-hind the introduction of two terms in question, it was attempted to find the points of discrepancy between them. The author conducted the linguistic and conceptual analysis of the notions from the point of view of Russian and English term systems. The analysis revealed six approaches to determining the content of equivalent concepts, which, in turn, indicates a) the impossibility of interchanging the concepts we are interested in in the process of ex-changing scientific experience, and b) the appropriateness of revising the introduction of the term «auding» in the term system of domestic theory and methods of teaching foreign languages.

В статье поднимается вопрос сопоставимости отечественных и зарубежных представлений о виде речевой деятельности, скрывающимся за понятиями «аудирование» и «auding». В связи с обнаружением целевых несоответствий введения терминологических эквивалентов в разных терминологических системах, была предпринята попытка раскрыть точки несоответствия. Автором были проведены лингвистический и концептуальный анализы понятий, выражающих процессы, входящие в состав отечественной и зарубежной сторон данной речевой деятельности. В результате анализа было выявлено шесть подходов к определению содержания эквивалентных понятий, что, в свою очередь, говорит о а) невозможности взаимозамены интересующих нас понятий в процессе обмена научным опытом и б) уместности пересмотра введения термина «аудирование» в терминосистему отечественной теории и методики обучения иностранным языкам.
