Abstract
The article deals with the problems related to the Russian-Belarusian interaction in the speech of a bilingual linguistic personality. Using the method of linguistic portraiture, the authors analyze the verbal-semantic, thesaurus (cognitive) and motivational levels and identify the reasons for the informant’s loss of one of the languages and ways of preserving their belonging to the Belarusian culture. The article describes the specificity of speech that has formed due a linguistic personality’s long-term residence in a discrete and multilayered transboundary region.
