Abstract

The article examines the concept of national identity in various discourses and on the material of different types of texts. The focus is on the potential of small contemporary humorous genres as a means of reflecting the traits of the Russian national character. A semiotic analysis of polycode texts of Internet resources (demotivators and memes) is carried out, features of Russian national identity are revealed. It is concluded that the studied texts are material for understanding the Russian national character, as well as for national self-reflection.
