Abstract

This study aims to explore how environmental awareness of the quality of life of local residents affects the trust of local governments. As a result of the analysis, the correlation between independent and dependent variables showed a positive (+) correlation between independent variables such as social environment, economic environment, physical environment, quality of life environment, government trust, institutional trust, and interpersonal trust. In addition, the variables that showed the highest correlation among the dependent variables were in the order of government trust and quality of life environment (r=.980), government trust and institutional trust (r=.922), and institutional trust and quality of life environment (r=.860). Therefore, Gyeongsan-si must improve education, housing, and women's employment performance in order to increase government trust in the social environment, such as income level, economic benefits, balanced regional development, and economic exchanges with foreign countries to revitalize the local economy. In the physical environment, it is necessary to continuously manage the efficient management of the natural environment and the preservation of the natural ecosystem. In other quality of life, efforts are needed to strengthen administrative management conditions and establish human relations networks. In particular, institutional trust requires efforts to improve security conditions and to expand welfare conditions for interpersonal trust.
