Abstract

The article analyzes the formation of professional competence of medical students by means of information technology, presents an analysis of the results of this study, conducted by lecturers of Donetsk National Medical University. The work is based on cognitive, operational-practical and motivational criteria; as well as at such levels of professional competence as high, medium, sufficient and critical. The content of the experiment was aimed at determining the impact of IT tools on the formation of professional competencies of future doctors. Two samples of students were identified according to the level of formation of their professional competencies. The obtained answers confirmed the assumption that the traditional system of training and education in the field of medicine needs to be improved, the use of modern IT tools in particular. Good education of future physicians is a requirement of nowadays, which requires a revision of methods and forms of work, as well as principles and forms of training. The implementation of IT technologies into the educational process of the medical school contributes to the formation of professional competence of the future doctor and is an objective process of educational development. The obtained results allowed providing recommendations to the management of educational institutions and institutions of postgraduate pedagogical education on the improvement of teachersʼ competence, the use of digital teaching tools. The novelty of the study presented in the article lies in the fact that it gives the responses to the needs of today, that Ukrainian teachers identify in the training of medical professionals. The results of the study can be used to achieve long-term results in the training of highly qualified physicians by lecturers and administrations of medical colleges and higher medical institutions in the organization as well as planning of the educational process.
