Abstract
To analyze the characteristics of noise occuring during helicopter operation, in this study, representative military heliports with noise barriers were selected and the noise was measured with respect to the direction (front, rear, and side) and distance. Furthermore, to measure the effect of noise on nearby households and calculate the effectiveness of the noise barrier, the noise at different distances and the noise caused by the different starting procedures for helicopters were measured and analyzed. Through this study, accurate information regarding the noise from helicopters operated by the military and the effect of the noise barrier were obtained.
