Abstract

The purpose of this study was to examine the relationship among self-concepts, leisure attitude, flow experience and degree of participation in leisure sports of office workers. To achieve the purpose of this study, white color workers who were working in a company located in Seoul, were selected as population of this study. After selecting 10 companies randomly, by using stratified cluster random sampling method,490 office workers were sampled for this study. A total of 450 subjects were used for employee data analysis. Instruments used in this study were Self-concepts scale, Leisure attitude scale, Flow experience scale, Participation in leisure sports scale. To analyze data, multiple regression and path analysis were conducted. The results of this study as follows; First,, social self-concept has the most strong effect on cognitive, affective, behavioral leisure attitude. Self-concepts mostly influence on affective leisure attitude than other variables. And, social self concept has the most strong effects on flow experience. Also, social self-concept has the most strong effects on cognitive, behavioral participation. And general self concept largely influence on affective participation. Self-concepts influence on affective participation larger than other variables. Second, this result was exposed to the caused relationship among self concepts, leisure attitude, flow experience and degree of participation in leisure sports. Behavioral leisure attitude has the most strong effects on cognitive participation. Self-concepts has an indirect effect through affective, behavioral leisure attitude, flow experience. Affective leisure attitude has most strong effects on affective participation and self-concepts has an indirect effect through affective leisure attitude. Behavioral leisure attitude has most strong effects on behavioral participation and self-concepts has an indirect effect through cognitive, affective, behavioral leisure attitude.
