Abstract

This research looks at cultural-historical context of liturgical airs tailoring from the vestry of Nikolaevskij Perervinskij monastery which are kept in the collection of museum «Kolomenskoye». It became possible to distinguish two groups of artifacts: things made from French gold textiles of the late 17th – first third of the 18th century and things made from Russian brocade textiles of the second half of the 18th – early 19th century. The first of them were contributions to the monastery, the second, both contributed and purchased by the monastery. In the complex of liturgical airs made of French textiles, special attention was paid to «bizarre» textiles. Studying of unpublished monastic inventory and account books of the 18th – 19th centuries and Commemoration book 1735 of Nikolaevskij Perervinskij monastery made it possible to identify the alleged contributors of the liturgical airs, to correlate the complex of French textiles airs with donators - representatives of the most noble Russian families of Peter’s time and to name the monastery tailors of the XIX century.
