Abstract
The article discusses the current state and prospects of investment activity of industrial enterprises of the Volga Federal District on the basis of official statistics and concludes that it is necessary to intensify this activity in order to ensure the technological sovereignty of the Russian economy. The author analyzed the situation in the main industry responsible for innovative development - the manufacturing industry, as a result of which recommendations were made for a cardinal change in the existing system of investing innovations in industrial enterprises.
