Abstract

This work describes the synthesis of an organic-inorganic photocatalyst in the system of microcrystalline cellulose-titanium dioxide (MCC-TiO2). A series of samples were prepared by solvothermal sol-gel synthesis in caproic acid and characterized by X-ray diffraction, IR and 1Н NMR spectroscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and thermal analysis. The photocatalytic activity of the obtained materials was assessed by the decomposition of formic acid in aqueous solutions.
