Abstract

The article deals with national mentality, cultural and historical values expressed in the semantics of English and Uzbek phraseological units. In both languages, there were revealed several groups of phraseological units that reflect nation’s national-cultural, historical as well as social attitudes. Excepted cases are also included. With the help of comparative analysis the author found out similarities and differences in such units due to national-cultural specifics of both analyzed languages.Theoretical part of the article is proved by numerous examples of English and Uzbek phraseological units
