Abstract

Currently, 30,000 North Korean defectors have escaped from North Korea and entered the Republic of Korea, and it is desirable for so many North Korean defectors to be economically and psychologically stable and live as one of the Korean people. Many North Korean defectors have difficulty settling in our society due to live with economic difficulties and psychological distress. The protection and management of their lives is to help North Korean defectors lead a better life by examining and surveying the roles of security police and finding ways to improve them, as security police officers often fail to settle in our society despite their various support activities and various roles. The improvement measures include comprehensive improvement of personal protection system, customized crime prevention education, third, security awareness and unification will, fourth, economic activity support for income generation, fifth, integrated solution activities of social welfare organizations and related organizations, sixth, expanded crime prevention facilities through environmental design, and seventh, combined volunteer experience. If these improvement measures are implemented as soon as possible, North Korean defectors will be able to lead a better life, so that they can settle in our communities stably.
