Abstract

The purposes of this study was to analyze the impact on marriage awareness of university students’ multicultural perception and self-esteem. The survey target was one hundred fourteen university students in Jeollanam-do. Cronbach Coefficient was calculated to test reliability of the survey questionnaires for the collected data, and Pearson’s Ratio Correlation Analysis was applied to perceive the relationship between university students’ multicultural perception, self-esteem, and marriage awareness. Multiple regression analysis implemented to see the impact on marriage awareness of university students’ multicultural perception and self-esteem. First, the relationship between multicultural perception and marriage awareness of university students did not show any significant correlation betwiin overal multicultural perception and marriage awareness. Second, university students’ multicultural perception was found to have no significant effect on marriage awareness. Third, their self-esteem affects marriage awareness more than the sub-factors of multicultural. This study would be provided as the base line data to develop multicultural policies and multicultural family support program of Korean society.
