Abstract

The article presents an overview of the features of the formation of social-emotional skills of younger schoolchildren and specifies the essence of the concept of "social-emotional skills of younger schoolchildren". It is emphasized that the formation of social-emotional skills is one of the key factors of a child's full-fledged development, his adaptation to the social environment, and preservation of mental health. Children of primary school age are developing such skills as emotion regulation and effective communication with others. The author of the article emphasizes the importance of implementing social-emotional education programs in educational institutions as an effective way of forming social-emotional skills of children of primary school age. This approach improves their psychosocial adaptation and contributes to the strengthening of mental health, the formation of readiness for school and social interaction.
