Abstract

The article analyzes the research of the problem of critical thinking in domestic and foreign pedagogy. The relevance and necessity of the formation and development of students' critical thinking is confirmed by the requirements adopted in recent years in the republic by documents. The article notes that the concept of critical thinking combines the concepts of criticality and thinking. The analysis of the definition of this concept in the works of researchers is carried out. A characteristic is also given of what a person who knows how to think critically is. It is noted that technologies, methods and teaching aids make a productive contribution to the formation of critical thinking.
