Abstract

The article presents some results of a systemic analysis of the state and development of the crop production industry and, first of all, the grain farming of the Urals. The indicators of economic efficiency of cultivating grain crops in three regions of the Ural Federal District were analyzed. The grouping of enterprises ranked by the level of costs per hectare of sowing (including labor costs, costs of seeds, plant protection products, fuel, electricity, maintenance, depreciation, etc.) was applied. The factors influencing the decrease in the economic efficiency of crop production, including price disparity and climate change, are considered. Specific recommendations are given for solving problems of rational use of resources and increasing the competitiveness of grain-producing agricultural entities.
