Abstract

This research paper deals with the argumentative function of metaphor in Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais's Gomaa speeches (Friday Speeches) as a tool of thinking and a knowledge structure that affects the text itself and the recipients. It covers with analysis one of the most important issues in the social and political arena that casts its shadow over the world including the Arab World: it is terrorism with its interrelated misconceptions and deviant ideas. The concept of terrorism has been dealt with in seven speeches of Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sudais.
