Abstract
The purpose of the research is to study the problem of using modern information technologies in professionally-oriented foreign language teaching. The article considers the essence of professionally-oriented teaching in the framework of personality-oriented approach; particular attention is paid to interdisciplinary interdependence of foreign language and personalities of the students. Scientific novelty involves the use of software systems based on artificial intelligence, in particular, the basic software platform "Mondly" as a tool for increasing the lexical competence of non-linguistic students. The result revealed the essence of professionally-oriented teaching, means of enhancing professional competence, features and capabilities of software platform "Mondly" as a tool for increasing the lexical competence.
