Abstract

In the review article, based on the analysis of modern literature data and own long-term clinical experience, some practical issues of conjunctivitis are presented, which continue to be an urgent problem of modern ophthalmology. In particular, this paper presents modern methods of diagnosis and treatment of the most common conjunctivitis, namely, we are talking about bacterial, chlamydial and adenoviral lesions of the mucous membrane of the eye. At the same time, much attention is paid to antibiotic therapy of bacterial and chlamydial conjunctivitis, in which a special place is occupied by antibiotics- fluoroquinolones, which have a wide spectrum of action and are the first choice drugs for bacterial and chlamydial conjunctivitis, especially resistant to other antibiotics. Keywords: bacterial, chlamydial, adenoviral conjunctivitis, diagnosis, treatment.
