Abstract
Y. B. Shmarov collection is nominally considered to accumulate data relating to the history of Russian nobility, but it is also a pedigree reference tool in itself. The very methods of gathering and systematization of genealogical materials enable fast and efficient search options for biographical information, iconographical details, as well as both published and unpublished sources.
