Abstract
The article considers the development and application of photonic devices in modern telecommunication systems. The key operating principles of such devices, including lasers, light-emitting diodes, and photodetectors, are described, and the latest materials and technologies that contribute to their improvement are discussed. Particular attention is paid to the application of photonic devices in fiber-optic communication lines and integrated photonic circuits. The prospects for further development of optoelectronics and its impact on the future of telecommunications are analyzed.
