Abstract
The article deals with the history of creation and the main stages of activity of the Department of Archival Studies and Special Branches of Historical Science at Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv. Priority directions of scientific researches of the teaching staff of the department for 75 years of activity (1944–2019) are analyzed. The peculiarities of training archivists at the University’s Faculty of History are defi ned; the cooperation with the State Archival Service of Ukraine, central and local archival institutions, scientifi c institutions is characterized, aimed at the research of topical problems of archival science, source studies, document science, modernization of archival education.
