Дантовские мотивы в романе Ф. Сологуба «Мелкий бес»
Highlights
The article considers Inferno by Dante Alighieri as one of the precedent texts for the novel The Petty Demon
The motives that go through the whole novel as well as zoomorphic comparisons and allusions to the first cantos reveal other aspects of Sologub’s plan and the distinctness of the poetics of the novel
Мотив грязи в описании дантовских чревоугодников и «грешников злой воли» также имеет двойной смысл: грязь и смрад – «праведное наказание», которое соответствует «преступлению»24: чревоугодники, по словам комментаторов, «плавают» «в отвратительной грязи», потому что «в жизни погружались в грязь»25
Summary
Дантовские, «адские» коннотации обретают в романе сюжетообразующий мотив обмана, а также сквозные мотивы (грязи, болота, слепоты, безумия) и зооморфные сравнения. В «Мелком бесе» аллюзии на первую кантику Данте значительнее: дантовские мотивы и образы не локализуются в отдельных эпизодах, а устойчиво сопутствуют повествованию о героях.
