Abstract
This study is to review the capacity building of higher education institutions based on the case of the Department of Material Science and Engineering 10-10 Project at Seoul National University. The Department of Material Science and Engineering intend to reach the top ten level QS Ranking in the field of materials science. The MSE 10-10 Project provide opportunities for undergraduate and graduate students to participate in various lectures, global networking program and international experiences program. And it provide opportunities to network with fellow researchers with graduates of the Department of Material Science and Engineering. The 10-10 project provide opportunities research enviroment improvement, international exchange and networking opportunities for professors in the Department of Material Science and Engineering In this study, based on the literature reviews on capacity building, the key indicators necessary to strengthen the capabilities of higher education institutions. It was analyzed as research capabilities, internationalization capabilities, participation capabilities in academic communities.
