Abstract

The purpose of this study is to uncover the turnover intention of MZ generation cooks, that is, young cooks, and to find out the factors that can lower it. Therefore, to find out the effect of the work environment perceived by young cooks on self-efficacy and turnover intention. An empirical analysis was conducted targeting cooks aged 19 to 34 working in the restaurant industry in Korea. The results of the analysis showed that work environment affects self-efficacy and that high self-efficacy lowers turnover intention. The better the facility environment and welfare environment, the lower the intention to change jobs. Therefore, in order to lower the turnover cost of young cooks, self-efficacy must be increased by investing in the facility environment among the working environment, and factors related to the welfare environment will also be improved to reduce the turnover of young cooks, thereby reducing turnover costs and new recruitment costs.
