Abstract

The article analyses the poetical collection of the modern domestic poetess D. E. Kan “In Confidence with Stars” from the viewpoint of the figurative system. The analysis has indicated that practically all the poems are associated with the Russian expanse, urban and rural. The basic images of the book are homeland images: the Russian rivers, towns and Russia itself are personified in the poems and involved into a conversation. They are closely associated with D. E. Kan’s personal and creative biography. The relevance of the study is determined by the growing interest in modern poetry and its developmental trends. The originality of the research is in the fact that the poetess’s creative work is studied insignificantly.
