Abstract
Venture capital investments are a special economic tool that affects the pace of scientific and technological progress. Every year interest in these investments only increases, as the Government of the Russian Federation makes the transition to an innovative economy. In this article, the essence of venture capital investments is revealed, as well as their distinctive properties are revealed and the positive and negative aspects of this type of financing are reflected. At the same time, statistical data are presented and the dynamics of the functioning of innovative investment is tracked. The relevance of the topic under study is largely due to the fact that the development of knowledge-intensive areas is the basis for intensive economic growth, which is directly promoted by venture capital investments.
