Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of topical issues related to the role of competencies in the activities of a modern manager. A conceptual model of the competence approach is presented. The competencies of the manager are listed, according to the company AT&T. The tendencies of the competence approach to management are considered. It is noted that a modern manager should have cross-functional skills, knowledge about different aspects of the organization's activities, social management skills that will provide key business advantages.
