Abstract

The article analyzes the coverage of sports topics of Soviet Kazakhstan, starting from the revolution of 1917 until the appearance of the specialized newspaper "Sport". Sport in the Soviet period was of particular importance, it was given a big role in the struggle for the mass physical culture movement, in the creation of scientific and methodological foundations of physical education, in the training of physical education personnel. The first specialized publications on physical culture are considered – bulletins, leaflets, newspapers, magazines. The evolution of the sports press is traced, the mass media that pay close attention to the topic of sports are analyzed, the activities of sports journalists of Kazakhstan of the Soviet period are investigated. Special attention is paid to the newspaper "Leninshil Zhas" and the main sports journalist of the publication, Seidakhmet Berdykulov. The article presents the first periodicals about sports.
