Abstract

Profession oriented language training is considered as part of the entire professional training at a pedagogical university that aims at mastering the norms, patterns and rules of professional pedagogical activity. The authors substantiate the approach to the selection of the content of the discipline “Foreign language”, which is built around a certain range of teacher’s vocational tasks, its axiological foundations are revealed. Based on the classification of V. A. Yadov the authors describe the values-ideals, valuesnorms, values-goals and values-means that should be acquired by future teachers at the stage of studying at a university, in particular through teaching a foreign language.
