Abstract

The youth voluntary movement in our country is at the stage of institutional formation, characterized by the active inclusion in various socio-economic processes of modern Russian society. The formation and development of youth volunteering is characterized by certain problems and contradictions that are caused by both the historical and sociocultural prerequisites for the formation of the volunteer movement in Russia, as well as the main trends in the functioning of society and basic social institutions, and government policy regarding volunteering. As part of the analysis of the essential characteristics of the modern Russian volunteer movement, it is necessary to look at the origins of the formation of such a social phenomenon as volunteering in our country, identify the nature of the perception of the considering activity in the Russian public mind, and analyze the factors that affect the functioning of volunteering in various historical periods of Russia's development.
