Abstract

In recent years, reports of opacities of intraocular lenses during or at various times after cataract surgery have been increasingly appearing. The aim of the work was to study clinical cases of intraoperative and postoperative transient opacities of intraocular lenses. There were 5 cases of acute intraoperative turbidity of IOLs from hydrophilic acrylic (I-flex, Germany) and 23 cases of turbidity of IOLs from hydrophobic acrylic (Citrin, NanOptika LLC) in the postoperative period (group 2). Cases of opacities of intraocular lenses have shown that the most justified is a wait-and-see tactic, since in the future IOLs from hydrophilic acrylic spontaneously restored transparency, and the effect of glistening hydrophobic IOLs did not affect the quality of vision of patients. Keywords: turbidity of intraocular lens, hydrophilic acrylic, hydrophobic acrylic.
