Abstract

In the article, the need to work on improving translation quality in the process of training translators is substantiated. The author ascertains the significance of the source text analysis in order to improve the quality of the target text and summarises linguists’ views on the requirements for high-quality translation. In the course of the research, the problems of translation quality assessing are revealed, the analysis areas of the source text to improve translation quality are identified, and the methodology of teaching high-quality translation of a foreign-language text to students-linguists is developed.
