Abstract

The article considers the following issues: juvenile delinquency in Tobolsk province in the second half of the XIX - at the beginning of the XX century, its causes, types and consequences. Scientific originality of the study involves a contemporary approach to studying juvenile delinquency in Tobolsk province: for the first time the author provides long-term statistical data on juvenile crime. The conducted research allows concluding that juvenile delinquent behaviour was largely determined by socio-economic factors. Delinquent behaviour was more frequently observed among urban boys, the rate of criminality among juveniles varied depending on a number of factors, including socio-economic ones.
