Abstract

An aminoformaldehyde resin of the AFK-8 brand has been developed and investigated, during synthesis of which a gel-forming agent of the Yu brand was used as a modifying technological additive. Due to its high physical-chemical and technological properties, the AFK-8 resin is offered as the basis of the binder that makes possible to obtain plywood with increased water resistance and a complex of high physical-mechanical properties. It is shown that the modifier-gel-forming agent of the Yu brand is a high-molecular compound (HMC) that does not have the ability to dissolve in water and does not have a predisposition to burning. The evaluation of the quality indicators of the new binder and plywood based on it was carried out according to modern standards.
