Abstract

The article is devoted to the disclosure of the facts of the famous Russian teacher Petr Grigor'evich Redkin’s biography (1808-1891). Redkin’s contribution to Russian pedagogy is shown, especially in the field of methodology. Particular attention is paid to the fact that the future great Russian teacher K. D. Ushinsky was a student of P. G. Redkin at Moscow University. The paper gives the analysis of some pedagogical works by P. G. Redkin. The author asserts that P. G. Redkin’s works are still relevant and need further analysis.
