Abstract
The paper reviews speech behavior of Russian-speaking children aged 10–12 years. There are relatively few studies on speech development of this age group, nevertheless, in our work we attempt to identify some features of discursive and communicative skills built during this period. For this purpose, we used two corpora compiled of the dialogues of children and the dialogs of adults respectively. Namely, we paid attention to the duration of latency in the responses of the participants. A detailed analysis revealed that children need significantly more time to formulate a response than adults do in a similar situation.

Summary
Для того чтобы можно было выявить особенности речи детей интересующего нас возраста, нам необходим был корпус, состоящий из двух частей – взрослой и детской. Перед каждой парой стояла одна и та же задача: разложить карточки с нарисованными на них картинками в правильном порядке, как можно быстрее. Изображения представляли из себя так называемые танграммы Перед одним из испытуемых (его условно будем называть «инструктор») карточки были разложены в правильном порядке, у второго («раскладчика») такой же набор карточек был перемешан. Задачей инструктора было объяснить раскладчику, как расположить танграммы в правильном порядке, по очереди их описывая, при этом раскладчик мог уточнять, правильно ли он все понял, и задавать вопросы. Все диалоги записывались на двухканальный диктофон, чтобы впоследствии произвести подробную расшифровку и анализ речи каждого из пары испытуемых. В итоге общее время звучащей речи в нашем корпусе 6 часов 37 минут (32 диалога длительностью от 4 минут 32 секунд до 25 минут)
