Abstract

The article deals with important issues and a period of the domestic urban history — the formation and development of urban space in Kazakhstan in Modern times. The city as a reflection of a new form of settlement defines a new spatial organization of the settlement of the population, a change in its quantitative and qualitative composition. People not only live in the city, but also engage in various types of activities, as well as create a new structure of society on a social, political, economic basis, form deep differences and contradictions between them, new types of relationships. These new relations are reflected in the system of intraurban settlement, creating a new form of the city and society as a whole, reflecting various social differences and contradictions between individuals and communities, as well as their unification within a single urban space. In urban conditions, housing, a mosque or a church, a school, a market, an enterprise represent an orderly space of human production. The research aims to study the urban landscape of Kazakhstan and identify its regional features, as well as determining those factors that influenced the change and transformation of the country’s urban space during the period under review
