Abstract

The paper aims to reveal specificity of Y. Lezhneva’s vocal style in the context of the baroque performance practice. Scientific originality of the study involves analysing certain aspects of her performing style. The idea of synthesis of psychophysiological, professional and cultural prerequisites for formation of an individual style, typical for modern theories of vocal performance (A. Malinkovskaya, O. Katrich), is noted. Some features of the baroque music performance are underlined. The conducted research allows drawing the following conclusions: the singer’s repertoire is in tune with her personality; Y. Lezhneva’s vocal performance is characterized by technical mastery and by a careful choice of most appropriate repertoire.
