Abstract
The article examines the history and current state of the study of Vietnam and the Vietnamese language at the Far Eastern Federal University. The scientific and educational direction of training specialists in Vietnam and the Vietnamese language, the role of Russian Vietnamese centers, as well as Vietnamese universities and Vietnamese specialists in the development of Far Eastern Vietnamese studies are shown.
