Abstract
The article examines the potential of theatre in the field of language teaching and the issue of defining a linguistic and theatrical approach as an autonomous and self-sufficient methodology of foreign language teaching. The author analyzes the experience of an EU project called “Glottodrama” which developed a theatre method of language teaching, and raises a question of the importance of a specific training for language teachers seeking to apply theatre techniques in their teaching practice.
