Abstract
The paper aims to reveal formal and structural peculiarities of credit terms in Early New High German. The author identifies prerequisites for terminology formation in the long-established credit sphere, reveals specificity of this process, which constitutes scientific originality of the study. The conducted analysis makes it possible to identify typical models of credit terms used in that period, to reveal nature and causes of formal variability, word-formative synonymy. The research findings are as follows: the author shows how social-historical conditions, in particular, the credit system evolution, and peculiarities of the linguistic situation in Germany in the XIV-ХVII centuries influenced the credit terminology development.
