Abstract

The art of ceramics is one of the arts that reflects skill and creativity. It is a record in which the artist's creations are recorded throughout his artistic career. He looks for the uniqueness and the uniqueness of the ceramic work, and what characterizes the artistic personality from the technique and style as two main characteristics of the artistic personality. The Iraqi potters have a central presence and an active role in art Porcelain and filled a large space in which also reflected their ability to disclose the ideas and visions of philosophy and aesthetic, which characterized each pottery special privacy. Therefore, the problem of research can be solved: Does the contemporary artist know the meanings of colors used in ceramics? Or is he ignorant of its meaning? Does the meaning differ from one artist to another? Is there intentional use of certain colors in ceramic work? Or is it just an adornment and aesthetic? This research includes four chapters, the first chapter includes the problem of research and its need, research objectives, research limits, and identify the reformers. The second chapter includes the theoretical framework which is structured with two mabahiths: The first topic: An introduction to the concept of color, its definition, its meaning and color structure in the composition of ceramics, contemporary theories of color and the theory of color composition. And the second topic: The title was to identify the most important coloring oxides in ceramics and the most important types found in nature, and the indicators that resulted from the theoretical framework. The third chapter consists of research, analysis and monitoring of the research community, which consists of a collection of ceramic works by the Iraqi ceramics for the period 1980-2000. Four ceramic forms were selected and then analyzed within the framework of the theoretical framework. The fourth chapter was devoted to the conclusions, conclusions, recommendations and proposals, and concluded the search of sources in Arabic and English .
