Abstract

The results of developing a proposal for automating forest fire detection procedures based on pattern recognition methods are presented. The mathematical problem of constructing a feature space and the problem of pattern recognition based on the results of comparing feature vectors have been formulated and posed. As part of the solution to the problem under consideration, it is proposed to form a feature space from two vectors characterizing the image of the current and previous frames. The choice of histograms characterizing the distribution of image brightness intensity as feature vectors is justified. Experimental results are presented that confirm the validity of the theoretical conclusions and recommendations for automating detection procedures
 are formulated.
