The research objective includes analytical description and genre attribution of the Erzya and Moksha Mordovians’ spring calendar songs (pancake songs, Palm Sunday songs, spring calling songs, spring farewell songs) recorded in Siberia in the period of 1975-2019. The paper aims to identify musical and stylistic typology of the Siberian Mordovians’ spring calendar songs. The article for the first time analyses the scores of spring calendar songs with a view to identify musical and stylistic peculiarities in comparison with the autochthonous folkloric tradition. Spring songs genres are correlated with syllabic musical-rhythmic forms of tunes, types of modal tonal rows are identified.
