Abstract

Sports phenomena have various variability. In particular, it would be more effective to approach the prediction of game wins and losses through a stochastic model rather than a deterministic model.BR However, in probabilistic models, it is often impossible to find solutions through analytical methods. In this case, it is possible to find the answer through simulation by repeatedly generating a series of random numbers numerically. This method is called Monte Carlo simulation. The Monte Carlo simulation method is used to predict complex phenomena that cannot be found through analytical methods in various fields such as engineering, physics, and social sciences, including physical education.BR Since the volleyball game also appears through various factors and processes to obtain the result of win or loss, the Monte Carlo method can be used very usefully to predict the outcome of the volleyball game. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to examine how the win or loss of each set is determined according to the stochastic situation of the performance variable after conducting the Monte Carlo simulation through the simulation data of the volleyball game. And when you choose a strategy to increase the winning rate of the game, I want to show you a specific example of what the choice will bring. In addition, through this example, we discussed how the volleyball coaching staff can utilize the Monte Carlo simulation results in the field.
