Abstract
The goals and objectives of this study are dictated by the interest in studying the current state of regulation of biotechnology in agriculture and related key trends globally and specifically in the BRICS countries. The author attempts to identify the factors of the implementation of a particular policy by individual states in relation to biotechnology, to find common features and differences in their respective strategies. The emphasis is placed on the analysis of authoritative industry sources in order to identify the modern trends, followed by comparison and synthetic generalization of the data obtained.
