Abstract
The article by Ukrainian ethnologist and textologist Andriy Vovchak (Андрiй Вовчак) examines theoretical and methodological research and practical results of folklorists at Lviv Ivan Franko National University in the sphere of documenting folklore tradition of the Ukrainians. In particular, the author has traced the development of the institutional unit for research and educational folklore studies at the University. The given unit comprises Filaret Kolessa Ukrainian Folklore Studies Department (since 1990), Folklore archives at Filaret Kolessa Ukrainian Folklore Studies Department (since 2004), The Folklore Studies Laboratory (since 2010) and The Electronic Archives of Ukrainian Folklore (since 2014). The article describes the history, status, vectors of activity of each institution in the fields of folklore documenting tasks.
