Abstract

The article discusses the use of e-mail in distance learning mode as an educational and educational resource. A comparison of the results of the use of e-mail in the pre-pandemic and pandemic periods is carried out. A digital culture of communication between students and teachers of higher education and digital etiquette have been developed. Students learned a polite form of communication with teachers when using e-mail. Teachers over the years have become more free and relaxed when communicating with students by e-mail, sometimes adopting their short style of answers "without conventions". The issue of digital security is acute when using e-mail in the learning process. The conducted pedagogical experiment of using e-mail in the educational process showed a significant increase in the motivation of students, and consequently, an increase in the level of their training in the disciplines studied. Distance learning dramatically increases the responsibility of students for the successes they have received or, conversely, indicates to them a flaw. The advantages of e-mail include its accessibility for all participants in the educational process in the presence of an electronic device and the Internet. E-mail as an online resource of the educational portal provides almost instant communication, perhaps in real time, promotes cooperation between students and teachers. Training becomes dialogue and discussion, allows you to get acquainted with the students and significantly participate in their education. The negative aspects of the use of e-mail include a significant increase in the working time and work of teachers. However, the combination of face-to-face and distance learning modes using email is gradually becoming a daily norm of higher education.
